"The last photo shows a better view of the reverse floppy operation. As the
LH body mounting rail is being lifted by the screwdriver blade, the bottom
pan is being lifted by the S-shaped hook, causing weight transfer to the
left. The RH skeleton "pan" originally hinged as well, using the same
centerline hinge axis as the LH top pan, but the excess movement didn't help
and the RH pan was eventually soldered to eliminate its action.
This chassis was never fully developed, as the track where it was raced
closed after it was run only a time or two. The handling seemed to have
enormous potential and improved as chassis movements were restricted and/or
eliminated. The three gears made it sound like no other slot car I've ever
heard!"
